Melting
We visited "Le Village des Neiges." It is a celebration held each year where a series of structures are carved from snow and ice. The weather had been so unseasonably warm the week we attended that most structures were closed due to flooding. (Tropical is good for butterflies, bad for snow ceilings.) The "church" was still open for tourist worship.
Butterflies!
Tamara, seen here with the ultimate accessory - clip on boys, organized a group visit to the annual butterfly exhibit. The exhibit detours through the botanical garden greenhouses. Because there were so many visitors, we saw the gardens inch by inch - very literally taking time to smell the flowers. Tropical gardens and South American butterflies banished winter from my conscious.

On Mondays we attend music "awakening." William and Caroline are deftly introduced to musical concepts and instruments. I glean musical vocabulary en français. Magnifique!

Biodome revisited - Feb 2012
We purchased a family membership for the Biodome. The eggs are just outside the penguin exhibit. I like the idea of the children hatching and Papa sitting on the nest!
There is a beaver-cam inside the damn - not as Narnia-like as I expected.
The blue parrot, even without words, seems to be saying "A little privacy please!"
The bat boys are experiencing sonar.
I'm not sure which planet William is holding, it's just highly huggable. Venus maybe?

Day of Royalty - 6 Jan 2012
We often celebrate the "Day of the Kings" and my birthday on the same day. I love this coicidence! Eve made the traditional cake with a candied almond as the favor to be found. The coating melted throughout the cake ultimately making us all the "royal finder." We graciously shared the power and the crown.
